American Idol Top 24

Another season underway, another season of my rankings. I plan to focus on the positive this year and keep my rude/snide/offensive comments as minimal as I can. There is one participant in particular this season that will test my niceness abilities, and that is Danny Ortega, who VFTW has already pegged for a long run on the show. From here on out, he will be referred to as Miss America, and that will be that.

First, here are my rankings on the 12 guys. The dudes are SO WEAK this season. I wish we could cut 10 of them now. In parentheses next to the names are the top-12 overall rankings for the six guys and six girls that I think should be in the top-12.

1. Michael Johns (5)
2. David Cook (7)
3. Robbie Carrico (8) - Whether he's a poser or not, I like his voice
4. Jason Yaegermiester (10)
5. Jason Castro (11) - who looks like Hallie Eisenburg, remember the little curly haired girl from the Pepsi commercials?
6. David Hernandez (12)
7. Luke Menard - I truly have zero opinion on this dude.
8. David Enchilada - He's fun and all, but I don't like him.
9. Garrett Haley - Leif will probably be going home this week, along with...
10. Colton Berry - This kid should NOT be in the top 24. Kyle (the politician) would have brought a lot more excitement to the show. That's another post, another time.
11. Jacuzzi (Chikeze) - Among a group of sub-standard singers, he really seemed to be out of his league, which means he must be REALLY bad.
12. Danny Noriega/Miss America.

Now for the women:

1. Asia'h Epperson (1)
2. Amanda Oversomething (2)
3. Syesha Mercado (3)
4. Carly Smithson (4) - Say what you will about the controversy, she's there and she's talented.
5. Kady Malloy (6)
6. Ramiele Malubay (9)
7. Alexandria Lushington - Had never heard of her before this week. Sad, because she can blow, but doesn't have a shot at the top-12.
8. Alaina Whitaker*
9. Joanna B.*
10. Brooke White
11. Kristy Lee Cook
12. Amy Davis

* Just look at how low some pretty strong singers are for the women. Once again, it's just sad that six of the guys have to be in the top 12.
